Sanford I know Latina women are hot but come on’

By now we all know that Governor Mark Sanford had an affair with a woman from Argentina. They met via email eight years ago.

My first reaction:….Honestly! Seriously your going to do this?

I want to ask some of these politicians if they know how to keep it in their pants. I know they must be aware they are not doing their political party any favors. Don’t they know the world (or at least the Internet) is watching you. Nothing you do is ever really a secret when you have chosen to live in the public eye.

I know Argentinian women are beautiful but there is a few major problems with cheating politicians. I’ll point out the top three in my mind, feel free to add more.

1) The Governor broke his vow to his spouse (in addition to major religious rules of behavior and the trust of his children.)

2) The Governor hurt his integrity and the trust of the people who voted for and supported him. Voters elect someone to the position of Governor because they feel he/she can be trusted with their future.

3) There is no such thing as privacy for public officials in the age of the Internet (especially for politicians who make bad decisions.) The Internet is faster than your thoughts. Once you choose to be in the limelight you’ll get the full media package, including people wondering where you are at all times, paparazzi and stalking reporters.

Let’s all learn from these bad decisions. I know no one is perfect but lets all try not to do things you’d be ashamed to tell your mother.

  1. I just wish everyone would leave him alone! I’m not saying it’ right, unfortunately, these things do happen. He’s a great Governor and needs forgiveness. God forgives all and the Governor is one of us.

  2. There is a very simple reason why disgraced politicians should immediately resign no matter what the offense, or the talent they may possess which could benefit society: in this partisan, acrimonious, political environment in which we currently live, and at this point in time in our nation’s evolution, any elected official needs as much support from his constituency which he or she can gather. After the offense, that support base will undoubtedly diminish, and render their service less effective.
